Due to the increasing amount of spam impacting our mail server, BRMEMC.NET has taken steps to increase email security. For some customers these changes in our system may cause problems sending email messages. If your system is affected, you will be able to receive email but you will not be able to send it. To correct this problem for Outlook Express:

Click on Tools/Accounts and then click the Mail tab. Highlight the mail account (usually pop.brmemc.net) and then click the Properties button.This procedure will have to be repeated for each account if multiple accounts are used.

 

 

Click the Servers tab and then check the box next to "My server requires authentication."

If you are using a mailbox from another ISP, click the "Settings" button and enter your BRMEMC.NET username and password. Be sure to click "OK" to save your changes.

For Outlook users, click Tools/Email Accounts; select "View or change existing email accounts"and then click the Next button. Highlight your email account and then click the "Change" button. Then click the "More Settings" button.

 

Check the box next to "My outgoing server requires authentication." If you are using a mailbox from anothe ISP, click "Log on using" and enter your BRMEMC.NET username and password.

Be sure to click the "OK" button to save your changes. This procedure must be repeated for each email account in Outlook.
